How do we match users?

It's very important to us that our users understand and trust how we match them with others. When matching two users, we start by adding up the number of questions (e.g., our never have I ever or this or that collections) both users answered and what items (e.g., TV shows, movies, travel destinations, etc.) they both rated to get the denominator of our matching equation. We then determine how many times they answered or rated something the same way, and then simply divide that number by the denominator we previously calculated to get the match percentage for those users. Any questions a user skipped are excluded for matching purposes. We follow the same methodology when displaying match scores by various categories on a user's profile page. Each interest item on the registration page is counted as a separate answer for matching purposes.

What is Weird Coin?

We believe our users are the backbone of Weird.net and they should share in our success. To facilitate this belief we created Weird Coin, which gives users the right to a percentage of our profits. 15% of our annual profits will be divided among Weird Coin holders. For example if you had 10k out of 100k Weird Coins in circulation then you would have the right to 1.5% of our annual profits. You can earn Weird Coin through the following activities:
