It is thought that Vladimir Lenin, the founder of the Soviet Union, is the subject of the most non-religious statues on earth, even after many were toppled in the early 1990s. In December of 1958, a Soviet expedition reached Antarctica's Pole of Inaccessibility, the point of the continent furthest from any coastline.
